##HThe Phoenix Park
The Phoenix Park is the largest urban enclosed park in Europe. It covers a total area of approx. 712 hectares. The Phoenix Park opened in 1747, and it is home to the Irish President and the U.S. ambassador to Ireland.Located 3km (2m) west of Dublin city centre, the Phoenix Park is beauatifully landscaped, with quiet pedestrian walkways, ornamental gardens, grassland, nature trails, and avenues of trees, including oak, beech, pine, chestnut, and lime.

Book of Kells


The Book of Kells is one of history's most famous books and is the best surviving example of an early Christian illuminated manuscript. The Book of Kells is housed in at Trinity College. Though its magnificent jewelled cover was removed by the Vikings, the intricate artwork depicting the four gospels, continues to fascinate visitors from all over the world. The Book of Kells exhibit also includes information on The Book of Durrow, the Book of Armagh, the Book of Mulling and the Book of Dimma and how they were produced.

Trinity College


Trinity College is the oldest university in Ireland. It is also one of the oldest in Europe and was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. Trinity College is set on a 40 acre site and today still retains some of its ancient seclusion and its cobbled squares, gardens and parks have a tranquil atmosphere compared to the bustling streets outside. Trinity College's many outstanding graduates over the centuries include Edmund Burke, Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker, Samuel Beckett and two Presidents of Ireland. The College was one of the first to admit women, granting degrees as early as 1903.

G.P.O


The General Post Office, or GPO. Is right in the heart of Dublin City and was the center of the 1916 Easter uprising famed in Irish history. Heroes such as Michael Collins and Padraig Pierce sprang forth from this incident. It was built in 1815, the neoclassical facade still bears scars from the fighting in 1916. Still operating as a post office, the GPO is a major landmark in the Capital and is a beautiful looking building.
